Winter Metered Power Program

The Official Site of the City of Homer Alaska

If you are looking for power while mooring in the harbor for the winter, the annual Winter Metered Power Program gives you the opportunity to use one of the power stalls with dedicated meters that become vacant during the winter months. This program is open to both Reserved stall lessees and transient vessels. Please note that you will be responsible for relocating your vessel if the assigned stall holder returns to the harbor.

Power stall assignment starts in the beginning of October and winter power rates go into effect October 16th.

The program, which runs from October 16 to April 15, allows participants to buy electrical power on a metered basis rather than paying a daily or monthly transient power rate. Vessels in the harbor during this period will be included in the Winter Power program and will be charged per KWH consumed, plus a flat monthly fee of $28.80. Rates per KWH may be adjusted without advance notice.

Current participants in the Winter Metered Power Program: please be sure to return your vessel to either the transient areas or your designated reserved stall by April 15th.  Vessels that have not vacated their temporary stalls after this date will be charged the regular transient electric rate based on the current Terminal Tariff fees beginning April 16th.

Stalls are not guaranteed to be available through April 15; you are responsible for relocating your vessel if the reserved stall holder returns to the harbor. Harbormaster will attempt to contact owner/operator but may have to relocate the vessel before the owner/operator is available. Any relocation of the vessel by the Harbormaster may result in a $365 towing fee.
