The Homer Education and Recreation Complex (HERC) Task Force recently completed a six- month study of the HERC facility.  The public is invited to learn more about the Task Force final report and join the conversation about HERC possibilities and challenges.

HERC Community Conversation
Tuesday, January 22nd from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm
in Cowles Chambers at Homer City Hall.

The HERC Task Force was formed at the request of City Council to analyze what capital improvements might be required to safely use the HERC building (which was originally built in 1956 as the then Homer High School), as well as potential options for utilizing and funding the HERC facility for the next ten years.

The Task Force presented their final report and recommendations for what to do with the 63-year old facility to City Council in December.  Homer City Council will be discussing how to move forward with the HERC at their January 28th City Council meeting.

Add your voice to the conversation.  Members of the HERC Task Force will open the community conversation by answering questions about the report and discussing how they arrived at their recommendations.

The final hour will be a round table conversation about the next steps the City Council may take in light of the report and the HERC Task Force recommendations.
